Her Bright Smile Haunts Me Still has been a fave song of mine for a long time, ever since hearing Cordelia’s Dad’s storming version (from their self titled 1990 album, well worth checking out imo), my version sounds nothing like that one though, but I enjoyed learning it a lot.
Samantha Crain : Joey (COVER VERSION)
My version of Samantha Crain’s excellent song ‘Joey’ off her 2020 album ‘A Small Death’ – if you haven’t done so already, please check out her version on YouTube (the studio version) which is naturally far better than mine, especially the vocals and the arrangement. The song is well above my vocal range, but I had to give it a try anyway, I love it.
Richard Inman : What I Did Wrong
Woody Guthrie did it in the 1940’s, Bob Dylan in the ’60’s, Steve Earle has been doing it since the 1980’s and in 2022 we have Richard Inman.
Diamond Joe
Diamond Joe performed by Small Farm Towns
Still Be Around by Uncle Tupelo (Cover Version)
Greg Brown Here In The Going Going Gone (Cover version)
Although I knew Greg Browns music before the concert I saw of him playing with his long-time musical partner Bo Ramsey in his home-state of Iowa
I hadn’t heard Here In The Going Going Gone before. I loved this song from the moment I heard it in that show and it actually made me pick up the guitar again after about 20 years of not playing. So I had to record a version someday and am glad I did, although it’s obviously far inferior to his.
