Dead Skunk (Cover version)

Hard to believe, but that I hadn’t heard ‘Dead Skunk’ up until a few weeks ago when a true, proper Ice Road trucker in the bush in Northern Manitoba introduced me to it (we weren’t in the bush, though, we were safely ensconced on the Winnipeg-Churchill train). Loved it straight away (the arrangement on the original is fab, there’s also a very good version by ‘The Mountain Folk Band’ up on YouTube, check that out too, it’s brilliant). It certainly is a fun song to play. As for the video thumbnail, no it isn’t a skunk, it’s a racoon of course. And no, I didn’t murder that (I might have murdered the song, but you can’t pin that one on me). Thanks for checking this out, hope you like it.

Please Stop Me (Cover Version) Guadalcanal Diary

Please Stop Me is a track from Guadalcanal Diary’s 1986 album ‘Jamboree’ that I always loved. Obviously my version is much different from the original which is a classic example of the mid ’80’s jangly Guitar Rock I was listening to a lot at the time (and still occasionally do). Hope you enjoy this, thanks for checking it out!
